Collectors

The history behind the objects

Modern Treasures

Collectors was born as a project that aimed to explore modern society treasures to understand the values that transcend barriers of the physical and the stories behind those treasures.

"And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye"

The little prince - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

1. Find volunteers

In order to develop the project, it was necessary to invite some people who could contribute as a volunteer by sharing their stories and showing us the objects behind those stories.

2. Interview with volunteers

The main objective of these interviews was to gather information about each volunteer to understand their story and their relationship with the objects they collected.

3. Taking pictures of the objects

After each of the interviews, the volunteers where ask to bring the objects they collected to a photoshoot set where a photo of a composition of the objects was taken. The objective of each composition was to capture the story shared by each volunteer.

4. Editing and post-production of the images and the stories

As an outcome of each interview, I end up with a photograph, a profile and a story of each volunteer which latter was edited and published in a book. During this process, the volunteer's inputs and feedback were really important to complete the book.
